Our first TOP-CAT
conference was held at
NCCU
in the Miller-Morgan building on November, 23 and we are proud to
announce that it was a resounding success. The participants were
exceedingly enthusiastic, especially, during the segment in which
they were awarded prizes and certificates for participation. Four
refurbished computers were awarded to worthy lab participants and
the Perry family received a brand
new television as a reward for their exceptional record of attendance
and exemplary level of participation. We were fortunate to have
had insightful and inspiring
speakers address the conference on the benefits of
community outreach and education. Two of which were John
Clark, news anchor of WTVD,
and Thurman Flowers, principal of C.C. Spaulding Elementary School,
who both gave addresses that had the audience energized. Of course,
the most memorable portion of the conference was the distribution
of prizes to our lab participants. Below are two photo albums of
the event. TOP-CAT wants to thank all of those who helped us to
make our first conference a success, namely GE, our largest supporter
and sponsor. We are deeply indebted to many individuals and organizations
for their help and support, there are just too many to list here.
